The Intrepid-class battleship was a warship fielded by the Alteri at the height of their power. It was the last known warship ever designed by the Alteri, and the most powerful that they fielded prior to their disappearance.

UNNS Horizon

The UNNS Horizon was a Human Pathfinder-class ship. It is notable for being the first human ship ever built and launched, and thus the first to allow manned exploration of known space.

Space-Time Anchor

Space-Time Anchors are large Alteri constructs featured only in their former space. They facilitate the rapid transfer of ships from one system to another without the use of a subspace drive.

Shock Absorber

Shock Absorbers are an advanced technology used by the Alteri. They are used to absorb and mitigate the shock from kinetic impacts.

Plasma Thrower

Plasma Throwers are extremely powerful Alteri weapons. They are capable of causing massive amounts of destruction to both shields and raw hull, and were one of the final weapons ever developed by the Alteri prior to their destruction.

Inertial Dampeners are a technology utilised by most spacefaring races in the known universe. They are used the reduce the effects of inertia on a moving ship or object, allowing movement at high speeds with no harm to the occupants.

Gravity Sling

The Gravity Sling is an Alteri technology. It is typically mounted aboard ships, and is used to allow the movement of orbital bodies such as asteroids, wreckage, and other vessels.

Explosion Dampener

Explosion Dampeners are an advanced technology used by the Alteri aboard their ships and structures. They are used to dampen the effects of internal explosions in the event of damage or sabotage, reducing or nullifying their damage.

Contender-class warship

The Contender-class warship was a dreadnought fielded by the Alteri at the height of their power. Standing at fifty kilometres in length, they are not only the largest known fielded ships by the Alteri, but also the largest in the known universe.

Beam Emitter

Beam Emitters are powerful offensive weapons employed by the Alteri aboard many of their ships and defensive platforms. They are capable of placing massive strain on energy shields, and heavily damaging unshielded targets.

Asteroid Launching is the practise of launching asteroids at ballistic trajectories, most commonly for offensive purposes against ships and orbital structures.

Alteri Dominion

The Alteri Dominion was the name of the empire of the Alteri, which collapsed many thousands of years ago when the Alteri disappeared in The Fleeting. At it's peak, the Dominion encompassed over a million worlds.

The Alteri Council formed the main government and leadership of the Alteri empire; the Alteri Dominion.

Sol System

The Sol system, commonly referred to humanity as simple 'the solar system', is the star system that is home to Humanity, Earth, and the seat of the Human Empire. The system contains a variety of planets, planetoids, moons, and an asteroid belt.

Custodia-class battleship

The Custodia-class battleship was a warship fielded by the Alteri. It served as a staple of the Alteri fleet for many years, eventually being replaced by the superior Intrepid-class battleship.

Earth is a planet located within the Sol system. It is inhabited by Humanity, and the capital world of the Human Empire.

UNNS Vista

The UNNS Vista was the second Pathfinder-class vessel constructed and launched by Humanity. It was commissioned to take an expedition team to determine the fate of, and if possible recover, the crew of the UNNS Horizon.

Centralis

Centralis was an extremely large ringworld that was the largest ever constructed by the Alteri. It served as the capital of the Alteri Dominion for many years until it's loss during the events of the Alteri-Inimica War.

Subspace Drive

A subspace drive, sometimes known as an FTL drive, is a specialised drive that allows a vessel, or even structures, to access the dimension of subspace. In subspace, it is possible to bypass relativity and travel at speeds faster than light.

Horizon

Horizon, formerly known as Proxima Centauri b, is a planet orbiting the star of Proxima Centauri in the Alpha Centauri system. It is notable for being the first established and successful extrasolar colony of Humanity.

Humans, collectively known as Humanity, or scientifically as Homo sapiens, are a technologically advanced race that live within the Milky Way Galaxy.

Secunda Refugee Crisis

The Secunda Refugee Crisis was an event that took place in the onset of the 2600s, when the EIC released an ancient Alteri bioweapon that led to millions of deaths and a large-scale refugee crisis.

Battle of Rathka Prime

The Battle of Rathka Prime was a battle that took place on and over the planet of Rathka Prime, a colony world of the technologically advanced Rathiri. This battle would be the first time the Alteri Dominion would face the Inimica in battle.

Rathka Prime

Rathka Prime was a planet in the Milky Way Galaxy. It was once inhabited by the Rathiri. The planet was attacked by the Inimica during the Alteri-Inimica War, and later destroyed at the end of the conflict.

Luna

Luna, also known as the Moon, is a moon orbiting Earth. In the 2200s, Humanity was able to establish a permanent, habitable base on the moon. In modern times, it houses a population of several thousand in carefully constructed habitats.

Secunda

Secunda was a planet formerly inhabited by the Alteri. It was colonised in the 2500s by the Endos Interstellar Corporation. In the onset of the 2600s, the planet suffered a severe disease outbreak stemming from an ancient Alteri bioweapon.

Treaty of New York

The Treaty of New York was a ratified treaty signed between all major nations on Earth that authorised an ascension of powers for the United Nations. It granted the United Nations the governance of interstellar colonies.

Horizon Mission

The Horizon Mission was an exploration effort launched by Humanity in 2312. It marked the first time that Humanity would launch a manned vessel on an Interstellar voyage.

New York

New York is the name of a human city on Earth. It is notable not only for it popularity and it's economic value, but also for being the home of the United Nations Headquarters building.

Neutrino-ion Generator

Neutrino-ion Generators are the primary method of power generation used by the Alteri, utilised in one form or another in most of their technology and ships. They are extremely powerful, capable of outputting massive amounts of power.

Battle of Aeterna

The Battle of Aeterna was a battle that took place during the Alteri-Inimica War in orbit of the Alteri colony world of Aeterna.

Aeterna

Aeterna was a planet within the Alteri Dominion, and inhabited by the Alteri. It was a border world on the edge of Alteri space, and in the onset of the Alteri-Inimica War, became the location of a fierce battle.

Battle of Altera Domi

The Battle of Altera Domi took place over the Alteri world of Altera Domi, between the Alteri and the Inimica. The battle ended in an Alteri victory, however the Inimica showcased their new hacking techniques and secured several Custodia warships.

Battle of PF-312-x

The Battle of PF-312-x is a conflict that took place in the Alteri-Inimica War. It ended in total disaster for the Alteri, and a decisive victory for the Inimica by using the completely unprecedented tactic of asteroid launching.

Inimica

The Inimica were a race of extragalactic invaders that attempted to invade the Milky Way Galaxy during the time of the Alteri. Though they gained considerable ground in the conflict, they were defeated by the Alteri in an act of self-sacrifice.

PF-312-x

PF-312-x, designated by the Alteri, is a system within the Milky Way Galaxy. It was used as a staging location during the Alteri-Inimica War, and the place of an important battle within the conflict.

The Fleeting

The Fleeting is a name defined by Humanity for the time period in which the Alteri vacated the Milky Way Galaxy. Due to a lack of records, the Alteri appeared to have fled the galaxy with no reason nor purpose, taking up and leaving to never return..

Altera Domi

Altera Domi was once a highly populated Alteri colony world under the control of the Alteri Dominion. It was the site of a huge battle during the Alteri-Inimica War; the first time the Alteri had been attacked in their own territory in aeons.

Sublight Engines

Sublight Engines are a technology primarily found on ships that are used to propel them through normal space. Being essential for moving around space, they are ubiquitous around the known universe, and all races have developed their own designs.
