In the far distant future, in a world that was once pure, technology and machines have become a core fundamental element in the daily human life. They call it "Manatech", the fusion of man-made machinations and Mana, the raw essence of life that runs through the vast universe and the basis of magics. The Manatech revolution was ushered in by a man of myth, fueled by ambition and an overzealous desire for power; Azriel Thermydor, the Emperor of the Holy Thermydorian Empire. Azriel is considered an enigmatic individual whose name merely correlates to a fairy tale; some believe he exists, others say he's not even a real person. Nonetheless, however, the Holy Thermydorian Empire rules with an iron fist over the great continent of Victoria. Just as there are those that follow the rule of the Holy Empire, willingly or by force, there are those that strongly oppose it.

Over in the sister continent of Osyris, a military faction of liberty fighters who call themselves the United Liberation Front Rebellion have declared war on the Holy Empire, and seek to completely dismantle the governing body to free the denizens of Victoria. Using all sorts of inventions and innovations based on Manatech, the Holy Empire and the Rebellion have been at a stalemate for the last four years. With casualties so great, the Holy Empire soon began the construction of two new type of vessels; Space Colonies, massive artificial orbital cities that would house Victorian civilians safe from the war; and Cradles, airship fortresses that serve as the Empire's military quarters and training grounds, as well as weapons of great destruction. It would be a matter of time before the Holy Empire's Cradles overwhelm the Rebellion forces.

Unless... somebody stands against the Holy Thermydorian Empire. For before the birth of the Holy Empire, heroes of ages past rose from the crowds to vanquish oppressive and tyrannical entities. Heroes chosen by destiny, called by upon the sacred power of the Earth Chronicles.However, said heroes are only that; mere stories of the days of past. One can only hope that history will change course once again, and bring forth another hero... another champion, brought upon by destiny.
