Elina's Necklace

When Elina Bucknight was preparing to leave for school at the Riselle Academy for Magical Girls, her nanny Olissa Gardson bought her a necklace.   Because of the love the girl had for her caretaker, she kept the pendant close, wearing it whenever she could. When she met her friend-to-be Ameron Binkley for the first time and saw his cat Corus, she was shocked at how much the cat looked like her pendant.   After the girl grew up and was killed, Ameron inherited her pendant and treasured it himself the rest of his life, always remembering the friendship and closeness he had once had.   After his passing, the pendant then passed into care of the Teles Council. Over the years, it gained myths of its own, suggesting that perhaps the spirit of Corus inhabited the jewelry and would return to protect its owner whenever there was need.   This theory was never tested. It remained in the hands of the Teles Council, an honored relic of Ameron and the services both he and Elina had performed in the early days of magic and the creation of Lexology.   Eventually, history caught up with them and the mythos around the pendant became little more then rumors, eventually fading to nothingness.   The last place the pendant was seen was in the back of the office of a second-rate clerk in a sub-basement of the Teles Council headquarters.
